We are delighted to finally be able to kick-off our upcoming art festival, Sawang Sawai Siwilai @sawangsawaisiwilai !

As the world turns amidst one of its most challenging crises yet, the impact continues to be felt by all. Unprecedented, not to mention unwelcomed, changes have forced us to rethink our way of living, seeing, and relating to ourselves, one another, and the world around us. Much of what we love has had to be sacrificed in the name of safety and survival. Yet, planted deep in the painful losses is the seed of infinite possibilities for how we can slowly but surely move forward—stronger, better, wiser.

With the Thai New Year approaching, SIWILAI are dedicated to doing our part in helping our society step into the uncertain yet nevertheless inevitable future with courage and determination. While the path remains unclear, we seek to illuminate it with the light of hope, inspiration, and enduring creativity.

SAWANG SAWAI SIWILAI serves as a real-life platform that connects people to new experiences, encouraging them to explore creativity, cultivate community, and celebrate every day through the power of art and culture. The festival sheds lights on current world situations as seen through the eyes of significant Thai and international artists—from internationally established names to fast-rising talents—and their preferred media, including painting, sculpture, installation, moving image, and performance art.

Audiences can witness rare as well as newly commissioned works from the likes of Rirkrit Tiravanija, Thaiwijit Puangkasemsomboon, Mit Jai Inn, Korakrit Arunanondchai, Haritorn Akarapat, Eiji Sumi, Sutthirat Supaparinya, Nutdanai Jitbunjong, Alisa Chunchue, Harit Srikhao, Nuttapon Sawasdee, and Saroot Supasuthivech.

In facilitating an immersive and interactive environment, the month-long gathering puts forth a four-weekend roster of thought-provoking seminars, hands-on workshops, musical performances, art tours, art markets, and food-and-art based events helmed by the city’s top chefs. Furthermore, art patrons and collectors of all levels are able to peruse and purchase one-off as well as limited edition treasures that speak to their personal passions, be it contemporary art or street culture.
